Cutting costs: maximising results
This blog is a real joy and disappointment for me based on my recent experience conducting a procurement exercise for photocopying. The School reduced their photocopying costs by 50%, without a reduction in service, great. Unfortunately, the appointed supplier was the previous supplier who when faced with competition managed to come up with new faster photocopiers that reduced the costs by half. So while being joyful at saving some £50,000 pounds for the school, I was disappointed that they had overpaid for the last three years or a £150,000.
